KIngs place debut
Arie Dakesian became the fifth guitarist to ever be selected as Tillett Debut Artist since the scheme’s inception in 1995. As a debut artist, Arie played in the Tillett Showcase concert at Kings Place in November 2025.

An adaptation of Bach’s BWV846 Prelude, better known as ‘Ave Maria’, Arie Dakesian’s original work brings a modern textures into the timeless music of Bach.

Mediterrations
Unlike compositions where silence surrounds the music, in this original piece, the music merely points toward the central element: silence; hence the title Meditation. It reflects peaceful memories from my grandmother’s flat in the working-class neighbourhood of Mar Mikhael in Beirut, overlooking the Mediterranean. From her sixth-floor apartment, the chaos below dissolved into quiet. Stillness would set in, and all I could hear were the waves — and her gentle voice.

RPS Grant
Having been awarded the Royal Philharmonic Society’s (RPS) Instrument Purchase Grant in 2021, Arie was recently selected from the 20 recipients of this grant to do a video shoot for RPS communications.
